FUTURE SPOUSE & TECH NIGHTMARE
This deadline I was on the JUNIOR setion part. My group of 3 and I worked everyday to get interveiws and quoted and pictures. Through the picture taking our spreads required all cutouts, i learned how to do cut-outs efficently and place pictures faster than before.
With the future spouse spread I chose that because I wanted to incorporate our theme of “6 words” into our section a lot, but not too much that it over does it and gets annoying so we chose to ask our interviewee what the main “6” things they would want to see in their spouse is. We chose the people we did because they arent in the yearbook as oftenas others, if at all. they were good results with their interveiws and it was a good experience to talk to people that were not in sports and were not as outgoing as i am. At first i was sort of intimidated to see how i would interveiw someone that wasnt as outgoing as i am, but it was really smooth and a good experience.
The tech nightmare was more to get funny stories into our section and show people that our grade is funny, and we all make mistakes. It was a cjhallenge to find people with really good stories.. we had two placed and on our spread completly done but we took them all off and had it redone because we found better stories for the section. it took a lot of work but to be REMARKABLE extra work is needed, and as a group we reminded eachother of that a lot. i like this spread bexause of its design that our editor put into it, it was very cool and i think that it adds a lot to our spread.
Overall throughout this deadline i worked really hard and had fun in the process. i think that, that was my mistake last deadline, becaus elast deadline i just took it really serious and didnt have much fun. But having fun adds to my creativity and made things better for this section. I put in a lot of hours and helped a lot of people with word choice in stories and organization of their spreads. Also i feel that that was important to do becasue I really want to be an editor next year so I am trying to mimic the ways my great editors now!
Seeing the classroom from a red reclining chair in the front of the room for the first time makes you see teachers differently. There really is no difference from a teacher and a student. Although teachers act like they are always doing the right thing and are the perfect example for students, I believe after teaching a class myself that students set the example for teachers. Walking into the unfamiliar feeling of being taught by one of their students teachers instantly went straight to the back of the classroom to sit together in the back row. Doesn’t that sound like the first day of a high school English class? Laughing and hitting each others arms I don’t think teachers realize how much they mock their students. At 9:07 the class of teachers was finally ready to be taught by Lindsay babler and I, even though class start was 8:50. Even teachers come into class late and we didn’t make comments like “Nice of you to show up today,” like they always do. What makes teachers feel the need to make their student feel uneasy entering their classroom? I sure didn’t want to say a thing to a tardy teacher because the way I see it as a student “teacher” things happen, and it’s okay. Now in a typical classroom there would be no talking when the teacher was talking, this wasn’t the case for lindsay and I. The laughing and constant talking over us or whispering together was uncontrollable. Now I’m not trying to say that teachers are rude, or make a point like teachers are bad listeners. I’m just trying to explain the similarities in the two different groups. Maybe it’s because they feel they have authority over us, which they do in school, but this was like a day of their school. After teaching the class about the blogger “tumblr” Lindsay and I couldn’t help but notice how funny it was to see all teachers roaming the halls of buffalo high school. Just like the students, they walked in cliques and laughed and talked together walking from class to class. I will never look at a teacher the same way again, I will always see our staff as an older version of Buffalo High School.
It makes me sick to be in a hospital bathroom and to look to the floor and see a leg dressed with the scrubs of a nurse and to hear her fail to turn the water on and wash her hands. So with the hands you just used to wipe yourself, your about to touch me. Yum, thanks doc. I <3 germs. Not.
